Temperature is the most important factor affecting the life of the
inverter. Excessive temperature will reduce the performance and life of components. Studies have shown that for every 10 degrees increase in temperature, the life of electrolytic capacitors will be reduced by half, and the failure rate of power modules will double. The inverter itself is a heat source. The power modules, inductors, switches, cables and other circuits inside will generate heat. All the heat must be dissipated in time and cannot be placed in a closed space, otherwise the temperature will rise higher and higher.
(1) The inverter should be placed in a space with air circulation, and it should be ventilated with the outside world. If it is placed indoors, the space inside should be more than 10 times larger than the volume of the inverter. It is recommended to install ventilation devices such as exhaust fans, if conditions permit. Air conditioning can also be installed.
(2) Avoid direct sunlight as much as possible. If the inverter is installed outdoors, it is best to install it on the side of the wall, under the bracket, and there are eaves or components above the inverter. If it can only be installed in an open place, it is recommended to install a sunshade above the inverter.
(3) When multiple inverters are installed together, in order to avoid mutual influence of heat dissipation, there must be enough distance between the air outlet of the inverter and the air inlet of another inverter, at least greater than 0.5 meters.
(4) The location where the inverter is installed should be as far away as possible from hot places such as boilers, electric furnaces, fuel-fired hot air blowers, and heating pipes.
(5) The higher the output power of the inverter, the higher the heat generated. From the perspective of life, the ratio of photovoltaic system components and inverter should not be over-proportioned.
